Our first planting of Dunstan Chestnuts

Our first attempt to plant Dunstan chestnuts I grew from nuts was in the spring of 2013. The following post was made on a thread on the QDMA forums and I didn't want to lose it.

I guess the last step in aclaimating is planting. We did that this weekend. ]It was planting week at the farm. I started by planting elderberries last weekend and continued this week with Dunstan chestnuts. The first few were a real experiment, but I learned as I went. By Friday, things were shaping up pretty well. Charlie and Steve came down and helped on Friday afternoon. The three of us got 23 trees planted. Then Saturday, the planting crew came down and we got 60 more planted:

We still have about 25 trees left to plant but once again I've changed my mind and plan to try to keep them in containers over the summer.
