I have all 3 of Jeffs books, and like them. I just seem to be more of a visual learner. I also have Jims book about hinging and scent control.I'm a junkie at knowledge like this but saw no value outside of what I have been mining on forums and youtube channels. The book by Bartylla is awesome and I really like Sturgis first book as well.
I've seen all of those, no detail, which may be an indication of what is on the paid side. Here they are on YouTube...

I appreciate all the help I get here (it is a lot). That is one of the reasons I posed the question here. That would be the quickest debate in history in my mind. I wouldn't sign up for that for $1.95 much $195.00. You have all kinds of "expert" knowledge right at your fingertips on this forum(and a few others). Tons of videos by Steve Bartylla on his website for free and on the D & DH site and Facebook pages as well.

And if you have a question, you can ask it here and likely get an answer direct from Steve any time!
Jeff Sturgis has a bunch of this stuff on his site and YouTube channel for free as well.........http://www.whitetailhabitatsolutions.com/habitat-videos/
I never see any videos or books that pertain to land that is wet. Everything I see has to do with land that is high and dry.
That is why most hunters never successfully see & harvest bucks ... they are all obsessed with high land wooded areas.
If you want to learn how to hunt wetland areas for bucks, buy this DVD ... http://nextbukoutdoors.com/shop/hunting-marsh-bucks/

I think the key here more generally is sanctuary. Swamp is just a natural feature that creates sanctuary from man. Once hunting pressure builds, sanctuary in whatever form is the name of the game for mature bucks until the rut hits when all bets are off.

I agree, but too many people generalize what sanctuary is. They come on sites like this and write down every habitat manipulation, monitoring, feeding, etc technique they can and then wonder why they don't see deer, especially bucks ...
It's real simple ... pressure moves bucks elsewhere ... doe's may not move, but at 3.5 years old, bucks will not respond favorably to activity & pressure. If you think you can create 10 acres of sanctuary on a 40 ... you are not being realistic. If you think you replicate on your 40, what someone does on 400 acres you are probably doing more harm than good.
Sanctuary means doing nothing ... hard to understand for the immediate gratification crowd ... learn your property and those surrounding you and how the deer use the greater landscape ...
