OK spotting scope

Looking for a new spotting scope. LEes say you need to see a 30 cal bullet hole at 200 yards or even better would be 22 cal hole at 200. 1/2 hour before sunset. Got an old bushnell that is pretty scrappy, but works. Probably dont need more than 40x. Likely lower power or fixed would work better. Not spotting elk at 600 yards or even shooting a rifle past 250 really. Probably won't ever go on a hunt, just range work.

Not sure if those 250ish ones will cut the mustard. Any advice, or deals on one you saw?

I bought a Pentax 80mm a dozen years ago, and still a great optic. I have directed helicopters on to animals from some number of miles (12?) with it. I look to the bird watching community for opinions on glass.
