ODNR well plugging?

Has anyone dealt with dnr coming in to plug wells? Any recommendations for those that have had the service done? It sounds like it will require heavy machinery to get to the well sites, so some ground clearing, just curious if there’s any benefit I can gain, if there’s anything I should be requesting them do as they do their job?

A lot of my bedding cuts have well sites, so my good bedding areas will be scalped. Anyone have any reccomendation for bedding mixes? I was going to add a few cedars(none within miles) to these strategic locations and was thinking prairie farm.com Whitetail’s mix for bedding support and browse. Anyone tried this mix or have reccomend for others?

My regen I’ve seen where I’ve done my cuts is about 80% spicebush so looking to provide some better diversity.IMG_2543.png

Just curious as to why they are plugging wells? I thought they just tell you to get any old/unused wells capped at your own expense? How many wells are they plugging? Why are they doing it now?

About 25 years ago in my neck of the woods the Dnr plugged a bunch of them.

What kind of wells are they plugging - water, NG, oil?

I'd go the opposite. Buy a solar setup and use the well for watering holes, water apple trees, maybe water an oak or two. Probably do all three with a single pump and some timers / valves.

You got desert, make an oasis.......... The heavy lifting has been done already.

Matty curious what state your in and are these wells water or gas n oil
