Paint Creek Nursery and Wallace Woodstock is where I have been getting mine the last few years, very happy with both. They are both in northern WI. I would order asap if I were you thou.

I have also had decent trees from Lodholz North Star Acres in Tomahawk. If you buy a bundle of 250 you get the price for 500 since that is how they package them anyway. I always picked them up, dont know about their shipping. They have a huge refrigerated area they can keep them dormant a long time. I have gotten them up to mid May in the past.

Cold Stream Farm out of Michigan is where I have been getting most of mine. This was the third spring I've bought from them and I have no complaints, I have been using them for the same thing and buy them 2'-3' and 3'-4' bare root.

I order late summer or early fall for March delivery.

I bought 300 last year from Paint creek. Not sure what their minimum is. Very vigorous. It took me 3 weeks to get them all planted with almost no deaths.

I have heard good reports and know others who bought from LL. Honestly there are many good nursuries in WI for pines and spruce. Many places used to cater to Xmas tree growers in the past. Not as big an industry as once was but they know how to deal in big volume and have decent prices compared to the landscape nursuries. Think CRP and other programs are good business for them now.

^^^^^ Habitat sales are becoming more of a boost to nurseries in many states. Sales to guys like us on this forum, and you can call others nature lovers, birders, eco - types, soil conservationists, etc., are on the increase. I have contact with several guys from other hunting camps around ours, and it's surprising how many people are planting / replacing trees and shrubs. For nurseries set up to supply natural habitat / mast trees and shrubs, it must be a good time to be in that business.
