Just read a bit about it. Seems like one hell of a loophole. Expensive and time consuming, but possible. Probably not a reasonable option for the average person.
Maybe a .22 with subsonics?

Speaking of which, that was one of the only things that made me happy this weekend. Sitting in my tree stand sick, in lots of pain, I kept watching the birds take baths in my little water tank. Brought a smile to my face.

Well most of the leaves have come down since I put the seeds down making it look worse. Though when I use the leaf blower in the spring I'm always surprised by how much is growing despite not getting any sun. I blow the leaves off to uncover lots of little clover plants trying their hardest. lol That's right on the edges where "cleared" meets woods.
The camera makes it look bigger than it is, but even still, just by blowing leaves and seeding heavy the patch of green is four, in some spots five times wider than it was last fall. I'll just keep the green creeping wider and wider. I only got to cut a couple trees this year, so I H&S'd a lot more of them. This will make a never ending job of picking up branches, but at the rate I was getting to cut them I figured it would be 10-15 years before I opened it up. I can barely do it now, I know I wont be in any shape to do it in 10 years.
In the spring I need to weed whack the hell out of all the small growth, saplings and the like and pick up lots of sticks. I'm at the point were it doesn't want to blow off because there's just so much holding on to it.

Deer, or lack there of.
During the summer I was seeing a spike and a forky. But it's been a long time since I've seen either, so I guess they've been run off.
I am regularly seeing this buck, while not old, has a nice little rack for my area.
There's momma and the twins.
And momma and her fawn that I saw last weekend.

Not really. There were no strange noises. That turkey decoy's been out there a couple weeks, through some rain, so I wouldn't think he got a smell off it. Maybe he was just practicing for ducking arrows.

Seeing him duck like that reminded me of something the Wensel brothers pointed out in one of their books. A deer's first move is down - to load their legs for racing away. They advised aiming low (with a bow) to account for that "drop" by a deer. That advice got me a number of bow kills.
Coyotes maybe scare him? Turkey decoy IF any smell was lingering?

Problem is it’s a 10 hour round trip to check the traps before work in the morning.
I'm currently in the hospital. Dad was in a car accident this morning. There may be no hunting season for me this year. Will likely have to cancel my vacation. Pretty much live for one week a year and it’s likely not happening. Last year had some major calamity to screwed it up as well. I’m not a happy person.
