Once it has stopped bubbling. I would put it in a carbon but try and get as little of the bottom sludge even if you lose 16 ounces or a quart ain't then let it sit in there to age for a few weeks or so and then bottle with some carbonation or not? I prefer a carbonated cider with a champagne type effervescence. About 2 to 3 weeks in the bottles after the carbonation it should be great I can tell you before you bottle back sweeten to you taste so you enjoy what you made. There are non fermentable sugars to sweeten to your liking so try those before bottling. I know you will enjoy. I love my hard ciders. Once I bottle I put in room temp for a bit then put I. Fridge. I have some 3 year old cider that are awesomeAfter the cider has fermented for a month or so, do I need to get a hose to siphon it? Then drink it, or age it first? Age it in fridge or what temp? I will not referment.

Hey Bur - What are the smaller, red crabs in the middle buckets ?? Just wondering.
Just a concoction that I thought up and was thinking what might go well with apple and I have used fennel seed before and it was very nice. I am hopeful the pumpkin brew with the pie spices will be awesome lolNice batch you have brewing there, Aero !! Is the vanilla & fennel from a recipe, or just an experiment ?? Just curious.
I had this red cider in the freezer and finally decided to try it. Very unique flavor tending toward berry or cherry.

Last of the dolgo s, firecracker, and some red seedlings in it. Probably a few of the other apples from this picture but predominantly the red crabs.. Yup, you saw this picture before.

Yes you are right and no but they are smaller apples and less juice so will yield less. What is the variety of cider in the jug? Don't add boardAero or others. Cider yield is very low from these crabs as they don't seem to shred very easily.
Has anyone added a board inside the grinder to better shred crabs and smaller apples?

I did not ask if it was legal but I did buy the warning labels that says it is unpasteurized and may cause problems in young children and elderly so I am going with that I would rather ask for forgiveness rather than permission ha haYoder, we just refer to it as cider or more accurately, sweet cider. It always bothers me when people call it juice. That's what you get from the store. It's highly processed/ filtered and pasturized. What a child would drink. It loses all kinds of flavor when that's done. We just press it and freeze it. In fact, we have a special freezer at the farm just for apple products. We probably have about 30 gallons froze.
Aero, is it legal to sell in your state? In WI you have to use stainless to be able to sell. I, however can sell the "experiance" of pressing. But I don't really want anyone touching my press.
Some of the crabs were not shredded at all and I feel I could get better use with some shredding. That's why I was thinking of a more narrow hopper.Yes you are right and no but they are smaller apples and less juice so will yield less. What is the variety of cider in the jug? Don't add board
