Morels 2025

Anyone finding them yet? Spring seems to have stalled out here and we need some warmth.

Post em here and where you're at.

I put some miles in the woods yesterday chasing turkeys with my sons. Checked some tried and true spots! No morels in Mo yet!

i found a couple in MO this past weekend but my spots are not rocking yet.

I have about 5 good spots that I find morels every year in Kentucky and about 20 other spots that I occasionally find a mushroom or two but not this year. I have found none and have looked several times. Most all my buddies have also been skunked this year but a few have been found but much lower numbers than usual. So is Western Kentucky the outlier or has the hunting been tough everywhere in 2025?

Found 3 so far. As per usual it was dry and warm. Then we got the moisture and it got pretty cool out. Then when it finally dried out it got warm again... 😑

I was still hitting frost 5” down on Sunday planting trees in heavy duff partial shade areas.

Just starting to pop here, should turn on good in next couple of days.
Went down middle of little woods and found a half dozen yellows and maybe twenty half frees.

Heard a guy found 30 yesterday a town over. I've never found one in April as far as I can recall.
I’m in nw illinois and my daughter and I found a pan full of of greys Friday. All in one spot.

This is about the earliest I’ve ever found more than a couple. My buddy and I walked my moms timber yesterday and didn’t find any.

what area of the state are you in West?

Daughter went back and found a dozen more last night- I was out hanging cameras and didn't see any.

Still in a severe drought here. SE Pa. (home turf) needs rain big-time. Camp has had some decent rain - but no morels found there.

No morels here and have only found a scattered few in the last 20 yrs but the wild ramps are back up and looking good. Some areas have seemed to expanded a bit. Plan for ramp and tater soup later this week if I get back up there.

There is a 40 acre sugar bush just down the road that has been thinned to just the decent sized maples for tapping. The road curves around two sides so you get a good view of it. The forest floor is just choked full of wild ramps except for the trails and where boulders peek thru.
