Went and picked up my order of MxG's from Maple River Farms last night. I'll be planting them tomorrow evening, and getting the rows prepped tonight. I planted 200 of them last year and they all survived, averaging 4-5' with 3-5 stalks each. I'm phasing out some areas where I normally plant Sorghum/Egyptian Wheat for screening, as well as creating some cover for stand access. So I will brushhog last years EW/Sorghum and then use my ATV disc to clean up the rows and plant 2 staggered rows. Then I come back a few weeks later and spray the rows with Atrazine for weed control for the 1st year. Last year I still planted a narrow strip of the EW/Sorghum inside the MxG rows to ensure a good screen the 1st year (maybe this year too) while the MxG establishes. I'll take some pics of last years when I plant tomorrow.
