Man cave wall siding options

I used old weathered fence boards in my barn.
 
I saw a guy took old rustic cedar posts, I think they were railroad at one time . He made his ceiling into it . Looked great ! I didn’t take a pic unfortunately !

NW side of KC, and few miles west of the airport. Between Platte City and Parkville to be more exact.

I have buddies over for football games several times a year. Watch college football up there from time-to-time, or just hang out, sip bourbon and smoke cigars with friends.

Niiiice! The Holliday makes sense. A buddy and I did a mini bachelor party for him in Weston. That underground bar is incredible!

Any chance you are in MN?? I have a customer in the west metro looking to take down a black walnut. I have never seen it, but she said its huge and she wants it gone. She is offering anyone the wood if they will pay to have it removed. Not sure if that's a good idea or not.

Buddy that logs walnut. Sent me a pic a few days ago of a tree he said will bring $5,900. Might be worth her time to find the right buyer.
 
Yea, walnut is wanted at the moment and is brining a pretty penny. Problem is most 100 year old yard trees are notorious for nails
 
I have a decent amount of walnut. Is that a thing where someone would come in and take like 10 good trees and be worth everyone’s time? I have no interest in logging crew coming in but would be open to grabbing a couple low hanging fruit for some easy money
 
Yard walnuts rarely fetch anything. Not worth the risk. If youre lucky and its good they might take it for no charge. I think a guy could sell 10 to the right buyer. Veneer logs go for way more than saw logs. Most gigantic yard trees also probably have rot in them.
 
Mine are along my creek. I have some clumps of 20 or so and then a lot lining the creek.

Any Amish in your area? They go door to door here asking if folks have any walnut for them to cut.

Interesting. Not immediate but south of me by 10-15 miles or so. You ever have any cut?
 
I haven’t, but know a few folks who have. I think they were satisfied. They used mules and log dollies. Took wood that way far more crooked than I thought they would.
