Lumite strips?

I see people planting rows with strips of Lumite on the ground. How are you holding it down? We get lots of wind and I can't imagine it not blowing around and making a mess without major efforts in place.

Steel staples, 6 to 10" long.

There may be better places to buy them, but I got mine from Shaw Fabrics (the maker of Lumite): http://shawfabricproducts.com

The staples can be found by selecting PRODUCTS/FABRIC STAPLES from the menu.

There isn't a price on Shaw's site, so I don't know how this compares, but here's a source for them:

In addition to staples, I recommend putting down the stips 50' or 100' at a time. That way if the wind DOES get under it, you don't loose the whole piece.

Also works well to throw something heavy on the ends and every so often down the run... Logs, bricks, rocks, etc. etc.

I found landscape staples at Home Depot, and I can always order on Amazon Prime if I need to.

I guess that I should use staples and lots of big rocks (I have lots of rocks!) to ease my mind.

Question; do mice and rodents find their way under the fabric and make their homes there?

Mice and other critters will take up residence, but it's been my experience that they aren't too bad. I actually expected more than I've observed.

You could throw some pellets under the fabric as you put it down if you want. I haven't because I'm afraid it just attract more critters!

John do you sell pieces of lumite. I would never use a whole roll but I would like to buy a piece for every apple tree I plant. Maybe you could cut up a roll and sell it by the piece.

How many apples are you planting? 3'x300' would do about 25 apple trees. Using 6'x6' lumite around each one.
I usually do 10-20 a year, I guess I could use a roll. I thought they came in 6' rolls.
