Liberty (Glufosinate) rate

DRG3

5 year old buck +
Looking for some help on Liberty and generic liberty rates. The labeled rate is 15-29 oz per acre of Glufosinate. Can anyone help me with converting that to oz per gallon for burndown before a brassica planting?

Thanks in advance

It would depend on your spray calibration. At 15 oz, it would be 1.5 oz per gallon and at 29 it would be 2.9 oz per gallon for my sprayer.

Depending on which plot I'm doing, I'll be using either a 4 gallon backpack sprayer or a 25 gallon FIMCO atv Boom sprayer, so not really precise on the calibration. that's why I was hoping for an OZ per gallon number.

Hidden in the Liberty label it says 1.7 oz./gallon for spot spray. Also gives directions for how much to spray. It took me a while to find it.

I'm not sure if you have used it before, but I would definitely use AMS with it.

Thanks for the help. For what it's worth, I also called Keystone, and learned how to figure OZ per gallon. Which now that I know, I feel dumb not figuring it out.

They said take the recommend range of water per acre and range of OZ of product per acre and dive the product/water.

Now I know.

It's nice with a product like Liberty where the application rate has a big range. You can mix a medium rate and after your first tank you can look at how much you got sprayed and adjust. Something I have gotten in the habit of is taking good notes after I spray. I now know that our 3 point sprayer will put out ~22 gallons/acre of solution if I run in 5th gear at about half throttle with the pressure regulator around 20 PSI. There is variability there, but I am well within the range for most of the stuff I apply.

I was hoping to have some results of spot spraying to share. I just sprayed my 2 acres of corn by hand since it got too tall to drive the tractor through. Well about 2 hours after I finished came an unannounced deluge! Label says 4 hours rai fast. Ag Talk says anything over 1 hour is probably good. We will see. I did 1.7 oz/gallon of Liberty with 3.2 oz/gallon AMS.

Thanks I'll be very interested to see those results

Hate when that happens! I’m sure it will still work some.

Seems to have stuck! These were skips in my planting. Weeds looking very sick and the corn looks alright!
