Lack of heat units/heavy rains result on my plots this year in WI.

shawnv

5 year old buck +
Cowpeas, no pods
Milkweed (not a plot but an observation), 90% no pods yet
EW, lackluster
Canamaize, do well but for short maturity should have larger ears

Clovers, great
Spring planted AWP, doing great
Fall Brassica, slow germination but doing well now
Winter Rye, slower germ start but doing well now (Turkeys ate 75% of the seed)
Windam Peas, doing well

Weeds, seeing the most fall pressure I have since I began food plotting.

I agree with the fall weed pressure.

Yep, my winter rye is being consumed by turkeys and sand hills as fast as I put it down. I am now going to wait to bow opener weekend to put down the last couple bags of rye(5 days of rain forecasted starting Sunday). I planted 2 plots of brassicas in the middle of July and they are doing very well. The plots I planted in early and mid august are not doing as well. July had good rains and temps. Check out this website for some cool info on your plots. It gives you rain amounts, heat units and some other cool info. https://farmlogs.com/
