Just because

If nothing else that thing is making for some good harvest pictures.
Where's the shot of th deer in front of it?

I sure tried this year, saw a couple that would have looked great in front of it just didn't all come together.

Someday!

Yep, deer and turkey are about the only ones left. Nice variety on the critters around your place. Course, once you have all the game and birds covered you can start doing predators. Never a shortage of those it seems.

Hey, I still have my all my MO tags too. Maybe a good marinade and I can make tag jerky.

My Daughter had some of her engagement pictures taken out at the farm the other day. The old planter ended up in a few of them.

Looks like that piece of equipment has found a home. Great pictures!

Looks good and a great way to use some of the old equipment. Remember, when it was new somebody was really proud and happy to get it. Reminds me of the old homes you see that are weathered and old in the fields. It was somebodies pride and joy.

"It was somebodies proud and joy." Boy isn't that the truth. I've always said the same, just driving past little old single room structures even, that are dilapidated, ready to fall, it was one day brand spanking new. Paid for with real dollars and sweat. Someday even these decorations will crumble into the soil. It's nice to take some pictures of them to remember them by. Most of the old timers didn't take many pictures while they were working all day long. My dad's uncle farmed his whole 160 farm with horses before he got mechanized... hard to imagine doing that. The field looks so big. We still find his horseshoes out there on a yearly basis. Cool thread.

^^^^^ I would love to have pictures of the old homestead that was right where all these pics were taken and somehow be able to get a list of the owners and deed info on the farm all the way back to when it was first parceled out. Now where the old house and buildings sat is all fruit trees that I've planted in the last four years, the dirt is lush deep loam in that acre and a half of ground on the farm. When we dig a holes for trees we have found old clay marbles, horse shoes, pieces of china plates and buckles and rings from harnesses.

Have you ever searched through Vintage Aerial? Ohio looks pretty well represented.

I've bought two for my dad, his uncle's farm I spoke of and his dad's old farm, where he grew up and worked, but is no longer in the family. These pics were both from the 60's. I'm not sure how long ago the homestead you seek was bulldozed, but it's worth a look. Sounds like some real history there.

That is a cool site, buildings on mine must have all been gone before 1981.

I had no idea those things were so dangerous to birds. Why do they keep dying on the implement?

I purchased a picture of my farm in the 1970's from them. I'm sure coverage varies by region.

I just found a pic of our old hog farm from 1967 on it! Wish we still owned that place.

The old hay tedder all grown into good quail habitat...and Darcy locked up pointing a sparrow.
