Native Hunter 5 year old buck + Nov 28, 2023 #2 It looks like foxtail, which can definitely irritate the gums of horses. In severe cases it will lodge in the mouths and cause even worse problems that might require a vet to remove. First thing I would do is get rid of that hay.
