Invasive?

I posted a smaller one of these early on and don't think I got a definitive answer but what's interesting is I have two of these side by side both going to seed where I missed spraying and one has green with red stripes stem the other one is just green notice pretty good browsing thanks

That is redroot pigweed my friend......good luck with that! In some places it's gly resistant......need a broadleaf herbicide and it's starting to seed out so kill it now. It is controlled in plots with mowing in my case.

I am on it.. there's only a couple others and they got hit with the gly and are responding well I will keep my eye on them this was a clear Miss and we'll go spray them heavy now is there a difference between the red stem in the green stem.. thanks very much

Maturity and size.....the stuff on my place stays green until it it gets bigger in most cases OR it toughens up and gets ready to mature and produce seed. I'm not sure that happens all the time, but I see it a lot here. It can get big.....I have seen it 6 feet tall or so and can be a real bear to get rid of.

The lambs quarters that's being eaten also in the seed stage and has the same kind of red stem and then right next to a form in the green stem

Yes - lambsquarter does the same thing. You are also seeing that many "weeds" are still deer food. I don't worry about "weeds" unless they are of the noxious/invasive type outside of my plots. I have marestail and golden rod and lambsquarter and ragweeds and all sorts of stuff that are considered "weeds"....that I simply ignore as long as they are not in my plots. A "Weed" is simply a plant in a location you don't want it. So by definition it's simply a matter of opinion. If you kill every "weed" on your property.....you won't have much left! You will find that some weeds are invasive and noxious in nature and can quickly spread and take over. Those sorts of weeds I spot spray to keep in check.....you likely will never eliminate them entirely, but that doesn't mean you let them run wild either. Many of the "weeds" can be controlled with mowing and the deer tend to like them at certain stages of growth. It's good that you are trying to identify the plants you have.....just keep in mind you can't fight every "weed" in every location.
