I was mowing brush today and noticed a few of these trees along the edge and have never noticed them before because this place has been so grown up you couldn’t walk through it. The one tree is loaded. I should know what it is but i’m not 100%.

Maybe wild plum? The leaves don't look right, but the fruit and random thorn/sharp spurs look correct. What state?

Ohio. It is interesting that crabapple and plum come up because that is the two things I thought but I have never seen plum and the leaves don’t look like the other crabapples that I have..

Cut one of those fruits open. You'll know if it's plum or crab.
