I put a shine on the shovel

I opened a new plot last fall & had the stumps dug out. I had many holes that needed to be filled.

I had just shy of 25 yards of dirt hauled in.

I had no choice but to haul it to the plot in the ATV trailer. It was all shoveled by hand.

I'm getting to old for this stuff. But the plot no longer has holes.

I've got blisters on top of blisters & can feel every shovel full. Call me nuts but I got it done, it took 2.5 days & 37 loads in the trailer.

Congrats! That makes my back hurt just reading your story. The end results looks good what are you planting in there?

Looks good.

Nice work. Always feels good when a project is done.

Was there a few beer and ibuprofen taken during that project.

In a few weeks I'll broadcast winter rye & oats over the top of the buckwheat & the new area. What you can't see at each end is a WR, oats, rape, clover, chicory and AWP mix that was put in a week ago.

Gave up on beer years ago, but ibuprofen is a daily thing since my knee replacement last March.

That's a lot of work. Good job!

Wow.....I applaud your ambition....great job. Think I'll go take a nap now :-)

I'm afraid that most of the world would indeed think you are nuts, but they'd think most of us are, and I think a few of us really might be, in the clinical sense. I've always marveled at what I'm eagerly willing to do when trapping, hunting or habitat work that one could never pay me enough to do as a real job that didn't involve hunting or trapping in some way.

That looks really pretty....Gotta to love the satisfaction of completing something like that!

I'd kill to have someone with that much determination and drive to help me maintain my farm!

Great job! Looks nice!

Hey tooln, that looks good. Can you swing by and spread 25 yards or so on top of my sand? ;):D

You can't afford me. :)

The plot looks great.

Have you ever thought about moving the stand back from the edge of the field?

No, I like it where it is. The small openeing you see at the very end is a pinch point to another small plot. If I had an overhead you'll also see what I'm looking at on the other end also.

OK at 18 I can see your boss not letting you use the machine. I'll be 57 in a few weeks. If I had eq. Other than a shovel it would have been used. A tractor is looking real good about now.

I have often said that there is no way I would (or could) work as hard as I do on my land anywhere else. Working on something you love makes all the difference in the world! We work hard, drop a lot of ibuprophen (aka: "I B Hurtin"), and consume a few Millers at "High Life Achers." Nice work!
