I had a good two shot zero with my 1899 F

Angus 1895

5 year old buck +
1/2 inch @ 125 yards!

Early 1920 1899 F in 300 savage.

165 grain spitzer with 36 H 4895.

I still haven’t fired that model 1894 you sold me. But it’s in my list of to do’s. EHD hit the farm last year so my plan to use it to shoot a doe got put on hold…

I’ll get there.
 
My experience, they don't like much more than that. Two's good, three sometimes, four can be pushing it. Based on my dad's 99C in .308 anyway.

I've also an 1899 in .250-3000 but considering age and poor condition, it's never going to shoot amazing again. Same goes for the rifle. 😄

I had the barrel cut and recrowned , then drilled for a scope. Its length of pull is short and the Burris scope on it has a very poor eye relief.

So they are peas in a pod!

I sold this too my horse shoer, then bought it back.

I hope to shoot it again before it gets too hot today…..
