Hogs and seeds

seadonist

5 year old buck +
I planted this year using the throw and mow method and I've got a lot of pics of hogs rooting around in my plot since planting (can't say for sure if they're actually rooting or just doing ALOT of sniffing around). I sprayed with gly twice. Once about 4 weeks prior to planting and once at time of planting to kill off the sparse new growth. After I spread my fertilizer and seeds, I mowed and then cultipacked the plot well; well enough that I couldn't see any seeds or fertilizer on the ground. The reason I'm posting is because I didn't have as much hog activity prior to planting as I have now. Could the hogs smell the seeds and are rooting to get to them? I hope they don't sabotage my plot before it even gets started.

Hogs have great sniffers.....time to put up some ham&bacon!

No doubt. May have to make a hog hunt sooner rather than later
