Hawthorne seedling?

I got some seed form stu last fall and left them winter outside. He felt some hawthorns take two years to germinate.

Is this a seedling or some contaminating seed?

I have a number of hawthorns growing at my camp. Any hawthorn I've seen at the 2 - 4 inch size has reddish-edged, toothy leaves. Doesn't look like a hawthorn to me.
