Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Memorial Day
is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces.[1]

For many it's a concept and a moment to rememberthose who have given their lives in military service to our country.

Give a moment for all, and especially for my friend who died far too young in a place too far away....

RIP

click on that link...Leroy was 21 years old. My son is 21 years old and has no business being in a helicopter 1/2 way around the world. None...nor did he.

I really wonder what he would say today about so many things....

Have a great and safe Memorial Day! Thanks to all that have and are serving in our armed forces and to those who have pais the ultimate sacrifice.

I bump this every year.
For Leroy, who I never met. And for all those I never met but owe a serious debt of gratitude.

God bless the USA! And those who died for it.

Was out to see the War Memorials in DC several years ago, pretty powerful and emotional feelings when seeing all those who gave all so that we can enjoy what we have now.

Too many people forget what the real cost of freedom really is.

A big thanks from me and my family for those who wont be around to be with theirs; What I and my family have todays is because of what they gave up yesterday. To the fallen and lost: I remember, honor and thank you!

Thanks for bumping this every year Bill. I read it from the beginning and have goose bumps on my neck. Thank you everyone who served. Past and present.

On a side note, it's a Friday and I have my red shirt on. No dollar for Jake today!

Thank you to all who have served. I have the utmost respect to our military veterans. You are the true heroes in this country.

I lost my brother on 1-1-18 who was a veteran. He served in the gulf war. Sometimes it is not the battles that happen while on active duty that do you in, but the ones that you bring home in your mind.

RIP, Brother Al. I will always look up to you.

THANKYOU to all who have served and sacrificed, you will always be my heroes!

I went last week. Sorry terrible pic. It’s a glass front viewing the field in shanksville, PA. it says “a common field one day. A field of honor forever”.

9/11. Flight 93 that was taken down by civilians on board.

not commissioned military but deserving of Memorial Day recognition just the same.

As a vet myself, I always try to remind people that Memorial Day is not about vets and those now serving. It's about those who never got to be living veterans...join a VFW...grow old...tell war stories...wear a WWII Vet hat. It's about those who made the ultimate sacrifice. And for me personally, I also always think about those they left behind on Memorial Day. A gut wrenching photo that says it all....
