Gun procastination?

I had a springfield armory basic 16" AR. Was way too noisy for me. Sold it in 2012 or so. Would still have it if it was a 20 inch. I like guns a touch on the quieter side. Absolutely love a 26" barreled 22lr CZ 452 utlra lux.......... Would be the last gun I owned If I was allowed only 1. I'd just figure out how to harvest deer with a 22lr, or just bow hunt for deer.

That 6.8 spc would be awesome for deer if you wanted to deer hunt with a AR.

The upper receiver I have is a thick walled something similar to the one on the right in this photo. I have plenty of AR’s hence the 10 or so years of neglect this build has had so far. I have thought about buying a couple cheap palmetto rifle kits their prices are really tough to beat for a budget build. And I totally agree on the noise level from a 16” barrel but I do still have a couple 16” with collapsible stocks just for truck guns hard to beat the short guns for that. I did buy a few Trump punisher stripped lowers a couple years ago that would be perfect for a couple palmetto budget builds. You guys are a bad influence to a recovering AR builders anonymous member.

Not direcrtly gun procastination, but I need a gun case for my 42" barreled 50 cal flintlock. NY law a few years back requires them to be in locked cases, metal or fireproof plastic as per the law. Gotta love the wisdom from blue state gun laws........

So, I bought 2 cheapie fireproof plastic cases and making it one case. Gun length is 53.5 inches. Just a smidge too long for any reasonably priced gun case. Dont feel like buying a $600 SKS gun case for a $1100 rifle......

Clamping an exacto knife to soldering iron to cut them. Then epoxy and rivet the pieces together .

Have you considered a locking sports tube? There are several Fire and Water proof models that are five and six feed long.

Stop with the AR stuff! I have been out of that world for awhile and you guys are going to cost me money! I have a mid-length that I have never done anything with and this got me thinking I need to throw a different upper on it.

Best to throw any extra AR parts in the trash. It will save you a lot of money in the long run. I just did it again a week ago. "You have an extra barrel and you have an extra upper receiver, buy a forend and put to together!" Now the fact that I have 3 other 5.56 uppers I never use anymore, irrelevant. The fact that I have at least two or three complete set ups laying around (barrel nuts, D-rings, two piece hand guards etc) so I don't need to BUY anything, but did anyway... 🙄

Writing this reminded me, there's an extra 6.5 Grendel barrel kicking around somewhere in my house. A ticking time bomb.

I need to decide on a can for my Ruger 77/357. Analysis paralysis has set in there.
The only other thing I really need to do is get a new trigger for my 7mm-08 Mnt rifle. I've adjusted Remington triggers for 40 years, but I can't get this one smoothed out.

This is exactly how I ended up with an extra carbine in my basement!

I threw my A2 grip in the trash. Uncomfortable, and I didn't want an excuse to put it on another build.
