Gun procastination?

bigboreblr

5 year old buck +
Anything you guys got overdue gun wise? Gun needs a scope, repair work, finishing a project?

Got a flintlock I need to dial in well. Probably more a shootign competition piece than for hunting, bt itll go out with me every now n then.

Still got to camo paint a few guns. I have small 22 range for practice at home. Wanted to cut back into the woods a bit more. Want to get 35 yards instead of 25. Practice target is a self healing targert a little bigger than a cherry. Offhand and have a chair with a rest to act like a treestand.

What are you guys lazy on?

Countless things to finish load development on. Lots of things along that line.

Otherwise, some of the most egregious sins would be...

I have a Savage shotgun I took apart to work on.... just looked at an online post where I mention it.... looks like October of 2024. It's still in pieces. I would have sworn it was Oct 2025 when I did.

I took a Ruger No.1 apart to take a Jard trigger out of it, put the factory trigger back in and sell it. That would have been 2021. It's still in pieces.

I have a Mossberg SSI shotgun that I took apart to add a better recoil pad to. Cut the stock and never went any farther. That was probably 2004? It's still in pieces.

I have a muzzle loader that's been apart for probably 30 years. I've slowly pieced it all together over time, but there's still a barrel band missing.

And when I say in pieces, I don't mean together waiting to go back together, I mean scattered here, there and everywhere.

I have 1927 Winchester 1894 I need to get around to figuring out how to scope without drilling holes. When our herd bounces back I’d like to drop the hammer on one with it.

I need to get my new range toy tonthe range. Alas, it will have to wait til May.

Super stoked about it, though.

I bought a circa 1911 LC Smith SxS two years ago. Had it reblued and case hardened and intended to refinish the stock myself. It was in much worse shape than I realized and decided to restock it. Not willing to spend $2500+ to have it done professionally, I thought I'd try my hand at doing it myself. Project is way above my skill level. It's been sitting idle for a year now.

Yep....bought a pristine early 80's Ruger 77 in .257 Roberts two years ago and mounted it with a vintage Leupold 2x7. Have yet to get to the range with it...which is ridiculous as my range is my back 40 and really I just have no excuse. Pathetic.

I also need to clean my silencer. I've never cleaned it, and there are bits of white fouling rattling around inside.

All of a sudden I feel much better about myself, I only have one gun in pieces. 🤣

I was hoping for at least the magnification of an old Weaver 2.5 scope. Give me a little zoom but keep it old school.

You should have bought a Marlin!

I took the lyman 66 peep off my glenfield model 30 (marlin 336) and put the swift scope on it. I used to have a fleet of gun with lyman peeps on them. Only have a marlin 22lr bolt gun with a lyman 90 and a lyman great plains rifle 54 cal flintlock with a 57gpr peep on it.

Put the scope on the 30-30 because I wasn't shooting the 450 marlin for a few years. Might put a peep back on her because the 450 in manageable now with 45-70 trapdoor recipe.

I got several SKS I haven't shot in years, just too busy. At least Im back in the groove of using the backyard 22lr range again. I got a small fleet of 22lr's and only shoot 2 really.
