GuardePro Long Range Wifi?

Catscratch

5 year old buck +
Anyone know about this camera?

At one time I was looking at a wifi extender coupled with a rechargeable security camera as a wireless cell-free option.

This looks to be that marketed to hunters.

Questions;
1. Are the "hub" and camera exclusive to each other? In other words do you have to have their specific hub to run the camera, or can you link it to a different router?

2. Anyone know how many cameras can be run at the same time with a single hub?

We have Starlink and it's range would support a camera on my yard plots, and maybe driveway. If I could have free yard pics I could move my cell cams to further ends of the earth.

Don’t have them. But finding the ideas interesting for the same reason as you. Could move close cameras further out.

What I read you connect their hub to your existing router and the hub will support up to 16 cameras.

There is another thread on this with some folks having first hand experience:

Thanks, good read!

From what I'm finding it looks like it must connect to their hub. Can't just connect it to your own wifi extender. If someone knows different let me know.

How are they for battery life?

I'm not familiar with that particular camera, but have had reasonable service with ReoLink WiFi/Solar cameras. Battery life is unlimited if you have any sunshine at all. I honestly believe most WiFi cameras will have similar range, and to get real long range you need a capable Access Point. The best I've found is the Ubiquiti Unifi U7-Outdoor. Here is a little blip I posted earlier about it's performance.... https://habitat-talk.com/threads/coyote-problem.18321/page-2#post-398541
