Good basic new pump shotgun

Buying your kid a gun..... my kids just claim mine as their own! They are legal adults.....and they still got grubby, sticky little fingers!! They get all upset when I want to use MY gun.

I would bet that most hunters started off with either a Mossy 500, Remington 870 or a Winchester 1300 of some configuration...at least around here. Indiana was not legal to deer hunt with a rifle for a LONG time......so we was slinging pumpkin balls out of a scatter gun. They was relatively cheap and plenty durable. My mossy 500 has fallen out of trees, been used as a boat paddle, and killed more critters than all my other guns combined....I might have cleaned it a time or two. It's beat up.....but scars tell cool stories. Fancy guns are like fancy cars.....great to look at and impress people with, but sometimes you need a late 80's fox body shitbox to just thrash and have some fun with! We ain't here for a long time, so we better make it a good time!!

Got the youngest kid a Mossberg 500 18" 12ga. No venter rib. Think it was $430. Oldest one scooped it up at the local gun shop. putting it under the tree for him.

This kid won't hunt, just goof around with clays a bit......

80 fox body schit baux........ Looking for one of them actually, probably more a sn95. Could be an F body too. Got a 2024 mustang Ecoboost, but want another fun toy again.... Got a 1980 460 Ford taken apart and scooped up some trick flow heads. Also got one crower 4140 stroker kit left for Pontiacs, makes a 521 out of a 455. Was a day short on a 1995 mustang setup for scca over the summer. Even had a scca logbook, so I can do vintage with it..... snooze ya loose.

Seen you posted that you got a Mossberg 500. I was going to say I’m a Rem 870 kinda fella, although I do own other brands also. I was wanting another 870 for a boat gun. One I could leave in the hatch, bring it out when we’re hunting, fishing on various public ground spots around the state. I never ran across a 870 for what I was wanting to give for it. One rainy day I was in the local big box store. They had a Moss 500 12G, 26” barrel wood stock with a tag saying $238 on it. I rolled the dice on it. Sure it rattles when you shake it, but it shoulders well, shoots straight. I’ve picked up a few chokes for it. I can say it’s done what I’ve asked of it so far. I think you’ll be pleased with your purchase.
