G5 Megameat rebate ($10)

Telemark

5 year old buck +
I just found out there is a rebate on Megameat broadheads at Cabela's. It's only ten bucks, but they're so expensive, it's nice to get any kind of discount.

It's only valid on 3 packs purchased before the 15th, I think.

Wish I would have seen sooner but dang I was in Alberta hunting moose with my daughter

I like those too but I’ve had the little blue “blade holder” wear out and break on a couple of them. That’s my only complaint.

The collars and blades need to be changed relatively often. I'm just think they are the best crossbow broadhead available.

I got to put these to use today. Huge entry, great blood trail, and a dead deer 50 yards away. Excellent performance. It will get more photos tomorrow, but here's the entry:

Ditto on my deer earlier this week… massive holes, complete pass through, piled up after 50 yards.

If only it would have dropped it 10 secs sooner to keep it out of the gully 🙂

the margin of error with megameats is large , the hole size is just really hard for deer to handle , my archery buck this year was one lung and he was dead in seconds within 60 yards. IMG_8502.jpeg

The broadhead busted a rib on the way in, punched a big hole through the lungs, and sliced the heart. Exit hole was slightly smaller than entrance, and the blood was just pouring out.

Here is the rib cage on the entry side:

Here is the exit wound on the deer as it lay when I found it:
