Fuzzy white stuff on apple tree

Any idea is this is a fungus or maybe insect eggs? Located in multiple locations on this seedling tree. Other trees are clean.

Yup. That didn't cross my mind at the time. Will get them scraped of ASAP.

I had them on a couple of my trees at camp in VT. this week end. Never had them before. I think they like the hot dry weather.
