Fruit Blooms pictures

Hasn't been the best weather for pollinators here. Excessively windy, a stretch of rainy days and some cool temps, but the last 2 days have been picture perfect. Counted at least 4 types of bees around the blossoms today.

Awesome pics TC!

A friend of mine and I are both assistant track coaches and so we talk bees and trees while we "work" :D. He just got into raising bees last year. I told him I wanted to start paint marking a few bees on my trees to see if they were his. He lives about 6 blocks from me apparently the bee with the distinct bands in the picture above was a bee of his. He just released that variety into a hive last week.

Is it a type of honey bee? Never seen it before.

Yes it is. I think it is a "Carniolan" honey bee. He couldnt remember the name yesterday, but after doing some research I am pretty confident that is what it is. The other is an "Italian" honey bee.
