Farm 88

I did some food plot prep at one of our farms here in Central Fl. My partner in habitat work is my 2.5 year old son Cason.
We started on a small tractor with a 5 ft bush hog trying to outline a plot that was established several years ago. This plot had not been worked for several years due to my work hunting buddy moving to SC with our our company and myself being tied up with other land and kids. After one try to mow it was time to put the tractor away and go get the the backhoe!
These are photos of the plot as we arrived on the backhoe. This spot had grow up with willows about 4" in diameter. It did not take long to push out a spot close to 1/2 an acre.
Once we finished that we moved on to mowing some other plots.during our mowing we found this guy!
That big dude made it out of the way just in time. We finished up before lunch and made it home in time to rock Cason's baby sister to sleep while watching some of the Olympics.

Oh I second that again and again. I know they serve a purpose, but dang I hate snakes. I have a place that I get into sometimes and I will not even get of the dozen tracks to take a leak. I step from the pickup to the dozen and never touch the ground. The same can be said for the 200 JD excavator. There are tons of rattle snakes in there!

We finished up pushing the willows and brush off this food. Now we have pick up the sticks. We plan to spray this plot and 3 others this weekend if the rain will hold off.

You didn't have a gun?I know snakes have a purpose but the ones that bite aren't worth it,they make better belts

It is funny you bring up the belt! I killed this guy turkey scouting really close by to this same place.

I had him turned it to this!


I did not had a weapon when I saw the last one.
