evergreen planting

I have 75 each, white cedar, white spruce, scotch pine, austrian pine, black spruce, norway spruce, coming this spring. Can these be planted where alder and rod are now growing. There is no standing water but has taller grass between trees. It is already a good bedding spot.

Jerry-I would put the white cedar and black spruce on the wetter side. Put the pines on the drier side and the spruce in between.

I would drop those alders around the white cedar to protect them from browsing.

All of them will grow faster if they get more sunlight.

The white cedar and black spruce would work for sure, the pines may prefer a bit dryer area yet.

EDIT: What sandbur said!
