This tree broke off this winter. There was one branch left so I tied it up. Will this branch turn into the new central leader?

Should be fine. Monitor the upper portion of the old leader for a new bud pushing. If one does you can train it to be the new central leader if you prefer.

Looks good to me and if anything a new shoot may come off of where you made your cut but that other branch looks like it will be the boss Nice work!!!
