Crosscut Saws

I'm thinking about getting a crosscut for backup to my chainsaws, just incase. Probably a 4', single man saw. I'm concerned about sharpening and setting the teeth. I've heard new saws are hardened in a way that makes some them difficult or impossible to sharpen. Do any of you have any experience with these or have recommendations for what to look for?
