What do you lubricate around the cups?I would be careful using wet lubrication. I like dry silicone or graphite to use around seed cups.
I use regular lube like triflo on the chain and gears. Also mine has a couple of grease sockets.
The mechanism that adjusts seeding rate. The gates slide open and closed on these star shaped plastic gears. What do you lubricate around the cups?
Those gears collect dust even if you spray graphite, blaster, or nothing. These are straight behind a disk gang. I bought the seeder slightly used. The seed meters were corroded in place. In fact, the person I bought from told me he was afraid to lube them for fear they would gather dust and then they seized up and corroded in place. I had a heck of a time getting them to move - and long hours with a brush on a drill smoothing them up. Now, whenever I put it up for extended period, I hose it off, and spray wd 40 on the seed meters. Has never had a problem since I started doing that. Been doing it that way for 12 years nowWD40 collects dust more than anything it does, for a penetrate-release agent use blaster. If you want to lubricate and not gather dust a lock spray might work
