Chinese chinquapin

So I’m in zone 7 still having nuts drop on 11 November. We are having a really warm winter but is anyone else having this happen or are these just super late dropping compared to chestnut? I have lots of chestnuts and they all done in September so these are exciting me. Only had these for a couple years so no history with them.

I got mine from wildlife group. Mine are two years old and between 3 plants I got 40 nuts so far and still more burs that haven’t opened. The Allegheny’s Ive planted haven’t made it in my area so think these will be amazing for turkeys and deer. They very small nuts. Wish I had Allegheny’s to compare them to but no luck with those.

Not that animals care but I have ate these to compare against the Ozark chinquapin and Chinese chestnut and they aren’t as sweet but still good.
