Chestnut Tree

Could someone tell me if the nodual that formed towards the top of my Chustnut tree suggests a potential issue? It doesn't look right to me.

I am not a tree expert, but that does look like it could be problematic..... The tree looks like it had some limbs pulled off and maybe the other part was damaged as well. I would get some pruning sealer and cover them wounds to keep the bugs out and the tree should respond just fine. As it matures and grows hopefully the spot you have identified will grow out and not be an issue.

The green growth looks healthy from what I can see. I would guess the biggest risk is whatever stripped off those branches coming back.
