I wouldn't have any confidence that a dealer network is set-up as it comes down to parts availability. A dealer network can be easily set-up without requiring parts stocking. I know as I have done that.
I have worked for European owned company and the Europeans have a completely different work culture. There is no sense of urgency .... they are socialists ... period. When our customers needed 2-3 week delivery, they thought 10-12 weeks was expedited service.
Good luck to your son, fwiw I would stick with an established brand.
I get this 100%, I bought the Kawi, he bought the CF MOTO Uforce 1000. We test drove a lot of machines last week, he liked how it looked, the options, the power, and the quietness. I will say, I think it had more power than the Honda, the Yamaha, the Kawasaki, and the Artic Cat, the Polaris seemed a little snappier. The machine came nicely equipped, front and rear hitch, winch, windshield, hard top, netted full doors, with hard lower doors, plastic felt solid, and not cheesey like the Honda, and Yamaha. Doors opened like car doors, and not backwards. It had a nice dash, usb and minny c ports, front and back. Lots of storage, probably the quietest one we drove. Seats were comfortable. About $6,000 less then the Mule, and with much better financing, 1.9%. My son lives in southern MN, I live northern Wisconsin, within 50 miles, there is 4 dealers from me, and within 50 miles of him, there is 6, that is much better than Polaris, Honda, or Kawasaki. He also got $1000 if free accessories.
If it was a name brand, I would have chosen it myself. But instead I bought the Platinum Mule 1000, no idea when I can pick it up, the recall has been on since the end of April. Kawasaki said the fix was submitted to the government, and is waiting their approval, then they said a few weeks after that. All while 2025 are coming out soon.
