Cell Phone Technology Question. New Info from bill more help needed.

Trying to get a new cell phone provider. How many gigi bytes do I use? I dont use my phone for movies. Search the weather, use navigation, search for a store or restaurant once in a while. Kid might play a game once in a while.

Would 4 jig a watts be enough?

4gb is a lot if you don't download movies, use youtube extensively, etc. you would probably be ok with 2.

most carriers let you change your data plan month to month so you could start low (2gb) and bump up if necessary. i use my phone a lot and use about .5gb per month. that said, we're in the process of moving away from verizon. sprint is less than half the cost w/ about 4x the data (slower network but i don't care at this point).

Music can add up as well if using Pandora or Spotify, or even more if getting music from youtube since it includes videos. I rarely go over 2 gb but when away from home it is mainly what you listed for uses and occasionally some music. At home I hook up to wifi so it doesn't matter.

I don't think I have ever gone over 2 GB on mine. I don't watch movies or stream music, but I do use the Google maps for navigation, use Youtube, surf the web, play games etc.

Remember when you are at home most of your usage is over your WIFI. (West Branch beat me to this comment)

I had a 3s I phone with 32gigs never used even 15 gigs. I bought the 5 iPhone with 16 gigs and the free I cloud storage space and I'm constantly getting rid of stuff so I can have room next phone will have 32 gig storage

As far as my phone plan I use less than 3 gigs except when I forgot to turn my wifi back on.
My son is between 2-3 gigs never over 3
So 2 gigs would be a good start

If I'm reading that correctly all of your data total (3g and 4g) don't even add up to a gig (no unit of measure is listed, but they can't be gigs).

3G and 4G are just data technologies. The 4G data is faster than 3G. I don't believe any phone carrier bills separately. They are just combined. 3G is plenty for text, light web surfing, etc. 4G will appear as fast as your wifi at home (or faster). As far as a user is concerned speed is the only difference.

G stands for Generation, as in 3rd or 4th generation technology. Thus 3G vs 4G.

The amounts are probably in KB:
1,024 bytes = 1 kb
1,024 kb = 1 mb
1,024 mb = 1 gb

So your bill is likely showing ~107k kb which is about 107 mb. Far less than 2 jig a watts :D
