For those you concerned about it, I was wondering if you have tried many of those available from the USDA GRIN.

This link has 14 selections developed by the PRI co-op that were never released but were noted to have moderate, very good, or excellent cedar rust resistance.

I am growing 1841-11, grafted last spring.

I grafted a couple 1981-1 last spring. But I chose it for fireblight resistance

Looking for a variety resistant to Scab and cedar apple rust - here's one.

“This new variety will likely supplant ‘Kingston Black’ (the current bittersharp cider apple benchmark) because it’s far easier to grow, is a prolific annual producer and shows no signs of scab or cedar rust,” says Cameron Brown, Stark Bro’s president and CEO. “It’s going to change the cider industry.”

I would suggest chestnut crab.

Got two of these coming this spring based on the resistance and an awesome pollinator to most apples. If they thrive I will probably add more at a later date or graft them onto rootstock if I can ever figure grafting out.
