Boy Scouts now accept transgenders

I made Eagle Scout in 1964 and have a bronze and gold palm. I was in Troop 306, sponsored by St. Paul's Catholic church in the SE scout district of Milwaukee, WI.
I could not be more appalled than when I read today that the BSA will now accept transgender girls who think they are boys. This is the death sentence for Scouting as I see it. Another case of an organization caving into the demands of the left wing loonies in this country.
I will do NOTHING to support the BSA. Being an Eagle Scout was something I earned on my own right. I am quite proud of my accomplishment to this day. I called the BSA national headquarters to express my dismay with this decision and was told there was a "longer than normal" wait time. What a sad day for a 100+ year old organization!

i am now offended they call them BOY scouts and GIRL scouts. They should take the whole shooting match and lump them into Scouts and have it be CO-ED. I am equally offended. What a joke.. Slap in the face for all the great boys and young men that made Eagle Scout. There is NO way I would allow any transgender people around my family. NO WAY. I am old school. Boys are boys and girls are girls. what a joke..

Yep, sad day indeed. This political correctness doctrine is a religion to some people.

I can't imagine they will continue with near the following as most families that supported BSA have to be appalled by this decision.
 
I'm afraid the Scouts are doomed, this will kill it.
 
I bet thier numbers grow. All the lefties will force thier kids there to prove a point. More sense of entitlement from the left. I wanted to be a professional baseball player, but I'm not. You don't always get what you want, including a twig and berries at birth. I have a Girl Scout troop coming over tonight, maybe I should check birth certificates at the door.
 
Is there really any sizable number of transgender children out there? How does crap like this even come up?
 
^^^ That's called bowing to the whims of the few at the expense of the masses and if you oppose it you will be labeled an intolerant bigot by the snowflakes.
 
I've worked with a transgender person and she/he was nice person and that's all that matter to me. How many of you actually have had interaction with one? However I don't see why the boy scouts would cater to like .01 percent of the population.

If a transgender person makes Eagle Scout they should call it Flamingo Scout. Mark my words.. some transgender boy/girl will be at a camp and there will be an incident and it will take down the whole organization. What if the transgender doesn't want to use the bathroom with other boys, do they have to build girl toilets now? This is absolutely crazy.

But.. you can't have a transgender in the olympics competing against other women if they were a dude. That is against the rules. But, boy scouts can't have a policy that says you must have the right chromosomes. Sad sad day

I've interacted with lots of PETA folks and think there jerks so if you are a hermaphrodite with both chromosomes then what?
 
What a shameful thread..."flamingo scouts" perhaps you should grow up. My son is a scout and here's the truth- if your son is heterosexual with no gender identity issues all having a gay scout or transgender scout working side by side with him will do to him or for him is teach him tolerance. However if your son might be gay or transgender, having someone similar around might just save your son's life, and based on these posts, god help them if they are, they are gonna need a friend. However you same homophobic maroons think nothing of having a scout master or adult leader who's divorced or having marital problems who likes to make derogatory jokes about marriage or disparaging remarks about his wife or his marriage around your kids. Perhaps you've even joined in yourself. This is the kind of thing that makes raising a boy into a man tougher, not the crap you folks are so up in arms about. I've told more than one person at scouts that the next time he speaks ill about marriage or his wife around my son and other scouts, and that included little conversations away from the main group on scout time, that he'd answer to me. those are not the values my son should be learning and within earshot of. As for being an eagle scout and spewing such hateful ignorance, how misguided are you. Not a liberal here- pro life, 2nd amendment supporter, believe our immigration laws should be enforced, just a sensible human being....
