5 year old buck +
I have a field edge location that has no decent trees for a ladderstand. For years I've been using tripod stands, The first one I had was a Summit . The Summit wasn't very tall , probably only 8- 9 foot I think, but I shot my biggest buck out of it. It lasted a good 15 years before some Joker hit it with a tractor and made it unsafe. I currently have a Muddy Horizon Tripod Deer Stand that's 12 1/2 feet to the shooting rail. I've used it two years and really don't like it. Feels a little flimsy and the shooting rail wont adjust to where I like it.
I'm debating about replacing it with either the 12' Bolderton 2 man quad pod that's 8'6 to the platform , and comes with seats and the camo curtain and ready to go. Or the Bolderton 10' tower , that's probably heavier duty , and 10' to the platform. I'd be leaving it open and just building a shooting rail out of wood 2x4's or 1x2's so it would look something like the 12' stand with the camo curtain pictured. Does anyone here own any Bolderton by Landmark stands , if so how do you like them ? .
