Bluebirds

Something a little different. Bluebirds have shared our backyard for the past 20 years or so. I can hear their gentle song almost every day, and see flashes of blue from late March through November.IMG_0036.jpgIMG_0037.jpgIMG_0040.jpg

Very nice pics. I love Bluebirds and put up 14 boxes when we moved.

Very cool, we have a lot of birds around but rarely see bluebirds and I think they are beautiful!!

Awesome. I love bluebirds, put out boxes near the house so that we can see them often. Another favorite that we encourage is Purple Martins. I love to hear them sing and watch them circle around scooping up bugs.

Any birds that eat bugs is good in my book. Bluebirds, Tree swallows, and wrens are easy to attract just putting up the appropriate bird house by a foodplot or orchard.

My wife's favorite bird, she had me put boxes up all over for them. My Dad used to put boxes up along the creek for them when we were kids.
We get about 50/50 bluebirds and tree swallows using the nest boxes.

Nice pics.

We've put up boxes for them over the years, quite a few pics of them also over the years.

Nice pix - thanks for sharing.
That's about the ratio we get at camp - 50 /50 bluebirds & tree swallows - as H20 said in post #6. Both good bug eaters & great to see flying around the orchard. A now-deceased member of our camp made a row of boxes for the birds.
