Big 8’s

Here is one big 8 by me, pretty sure he's 6 this year. He's been this size since about 4.

This is my big 8 from last year. I haven’t gotten any pictures of him this year yet but I’m fairly certain he is still around. Had pictures of him in late January and we had a really mild winter so chances are he’ll show up at some point this year.

We had him aged at 3 last year and I did pass him up once while bow hunting. If he put some decent mass on this year I’m sure he’ll be on the hit list.

This guy we are pretty sure is a 5 year old 8 this year. He was quite regular all of last season and as of now is my #1 for this year. He won’t score all that much but he’s a fair amount bigger than he looks in this picture. He hasn’t given me any good angles this year yet but I’m sure he will once the scraping activity picks up in about 10 days.

I have no problem shooting an old 8. If they have protein like Bakers deer maybe they blow out some more. Most 5 year old 8's have peaked at my place.

To state the obvious, a 150" 8 is two 5" G4's from being a 160" 10. Now imagine him with some gnarly mass and becoming a 160" 8. Far more impressive. If he doesn't check all of your blocks, I'd say see what he becomes. He doesn't look too young, but he lacks some of that extra gnar that old bucks get. One of the biggest sets of sheds I have is from a 170" 8. A few of those inches come from stickers on the base, but he was an impressive critter.

Problem is, he isn't a 150" 8.

Big 8 that just showed up at our place in WI. Has some nice character on his G2 and some big brows, with a nice 18"+ frame.

This big 8 wasn't a regular last year, but he was an occasional. Not sure of his history. Obviously hoped to see him again. May have got a glimpse in velvet this summer, and if it's him, he shrunk.

He who can predict what a buck will do has not been born. Ive seen to many unexplainable exceptions. Take the fella for example . 3 year history. Cant tell you how many tomes I'd have said" perfect target buck

I think the difference with that buck is the frame is impressive to begin with.

I'd be wiling to bet that this buck won't do ANYTHING close to what that one did.
