Battle wound

Jordan Selsor

5 year old buck +
Well my little buddy (10 yrs old) and I were grafting this wk and he got a little over zealous with my razor sharp benchmade knife. Clean down to the knuckle bone exposing a Beautiful white little tendon.
4 stitches later
Some lessons a lad just has to learn on his own.
PS he handled it much better than his mother did 😆

Been there done that! Except it is usually with the most dirty and disgusting looking knife at the moment. LOL Did his mom put the stitches in?

No we attempted to steri strip it but it was just in a bad spot. Good friend of mine was on shift at the ER and did them.

Heal up little buddy!

Ooof... Glad that turned out okay.

10 years old and keeping wounds clean will be rough. Opened up a finger in that area with a angle grinder biting me last year.

Oldest kid had his hand munched in a log splitter 10 years ago. Idiot fought seeing a hand surgeon.

Log splitter 😳

He mushed it good about 8 or 9 years ago. Some fingers do not work too well. A surgeon recommended he cut the first joint off a finger or two, thinks he could use that hand better.

No college for this kids, but he does work in project management in the fiber optics comm industry. Local cable company.

I've had a glove pinch on the log once or twice. Not good one guy at the lever nad another putting the logs in. They do that at camp for firewood weekend. Im usually the guy who carrys the logs to the handler, or the chainsaw cutter.
