Anybody ever use solar power to run a water pump?

I have a spot I would like to use solar power to run a transfer pump to move water from a bulk tank to drip tape irrigation lines. Anybody with experience in such things? Thanks

No experience with that. But we lost electric in the recent storms for 4 days.
My son has a pretty elaborate 75 gal fish tank that was turning green fast and so were the fish with lack of oxygen in the water.

I cut the Atwood 500 gal/hour bilge pump out of my duck boat and rigged it to a spare car battery. I was amazed that it ran for at least 12 hours before the battery died. Maybe something like that with a solar battery charger.

Although in my case there was no resistance. Don't know how the battery or bilge would handle the back pressure from a drip line.

I know the drip tape I was looking at requires a regulator so that PSI isnt above 10. So it requires minimum pump pressure to operate, but as you stated not sure if a "simple" pump can handle any back pressure. Thought I would see if there was anybody here using something in a off grid cabin scenaio that might have insightful info..
