An Interesting Read

Ron Joyner of Big Horse Creek Farm writes a very interesting blog on their website. Not a "how to" blog just his thoughts and experiences raising heirloom apples in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. He started in 2014 then went silent. He recently posted about the Crow Egg apple. I ordered a piece of Crow Egg scion before this post was published and am anxious to get a good graft and see how it does for me. I'm hoping he will return to posting on his blog regularly and sent him an email encouraging him to do so.

Thanks for sharing, I had never heard of those. The apple looks a lot more attractive than the name.

Interesting plus for the Crow Egg is it's ability to fend off late frost and still produce apples. The reliability pointed out by the author is a very cool trait.

Does anyone have information on Gold Egg?
