Age progression of a buck over time - the wide 10

5 year old buck +
This is a little montage I put together of a buck we have been calling "the wide 10". He has been around since at least 2019, at which time I believe he was a 1.5 or 2.5 year old. He has pretty much always been a 10 pointer with shorter g-2s.

Something that didn't really occur to me until I was putting this together, is that his core range has likely shifted a few times as he has gotten older. We have only increased the number of cameras over time, and in the last two years he has been showing up less and less - which might mean his core range has been shrinking. This is something Bill Winke and a few others have commented on, that as some bucks get beyond their peak years, their core range shrinks.

Obviously, his rack seems to have peaked already, but his body is definitely getting more blocky. I believe I am the only person to have seen him in person, and that was two nights before the start of the archery season in 2022.

That's really cool, hopefully you can put your tag on him this year.
