A Wild Night in the Back40 Orchard

I am not trying to be a smart aZZ here , but this is NOT a very big bear, that is maybe a 300 lb bear if that based on this pic!
small head, not very tall or wide
bears are super hard to judge, for sure, but a large bruin, would be a LOT bigger in a lot of places

a nice looking bear for sure, and healthy, but just being honest with you, I have a ton of experience with bears, from trapping, tagging, moving, helping handle them, and have done so for about 30 yrs now

plus I get bears at my place almost daily, so, I have an above average bear judging skills

again, NOT knocking you at all, as most folks see bears and always think there bigger than they are LOL
its human nature I think when it comes to bears
I corrected my post !!!:emoji_head_bandage:

When i was a kid, our neighbor had a black lab that would occasionally visit. One night there was some commotion outside and Dad went out to see what was going on. He thought he saw the dog and tried to call him in. But as Dad started to walk to him, he realized it was a bear visiting the corn crib. That was back when bears were not that common in that part of PA. That story gets retold often.

this would be a BIG PA bear, if you'd like to see a BIG bruin LOL
as I said, I have a lot of bears here all the time, this is an honest 600 lb male(got tag info off its ear) one of 22 different bears I had last yr,
this yr so far 14 different bears have been here! from cubs to mid 500 lbs one's
I see bears on a almost daily basis 7+ months of the yrs
so, again, wasn't trying to be a smart ass or the likes, just trying to give some honest info, for those that care to learn!

Bears are a pain in the ass, when they want to be. At one time I had them on my land several times daily. They are destructive, I didnt have any bearing fruit trees then, but I lost a few game cameras, knocked down and broke a couple grills, chewed through a cooler, shit in my deer stand many times, and have scared the shit out of me by charging my stand, and starting to climb my tree. I would prefer life without them, but I bought land in bear country, so I have to deal with them.

In my experience big bears arent the problem. It is the 200-300 pound younger males. They tend to wreck stuff to be jerks.
