Not sure which field you are referring to as I have multiple summer annuals as well as clover fields . I have been planting summer annual fields in beans or peas and such for many years. The deer on the farm have all learned this as well. So it doesn't take many deer to wipe out a field less than 3-4 acres here when the deer start eating it as soon as there is sprouting. Thus I only plant summer annuals in fields at least 7-8 acres and up to 18 acres and I have shifted to multi specie plantings to beat deer pressure among other reasons.
