A Nice Weekend

It was pushing 80° here on Friday so I left work a couple hours early, rounded up the family and headed out to the land. A walk around the land is so much better than around town.

My son turned 10 in Feb. so it was only logical that he get his first deer rifle! I bought him a Ruger American 7mm-08 with a Vortex Diamondback scope. He's shooting Hornady Custom Lite 120 grain bullets. Yesterday we were finally able to get outside and shoot!!

We also got the turkey blinds and trail camera's up for the next couple weeks. My wife's season is this coming week and mine is after that.

And checked on a couple small clover plots that we frost seeded.....

Getting outside with the kids and family is always fun. The spring time seems to be an exercise in sort of working out the kinks and getting back into the swing of things. Getting the kids to put down there phones and the like and just enjoy the sunshine can be a challenge but with a little distraction they will find it can be a good time as well. Looks like spring is coming alone nicely in your area.

j-bird, I agree. I half jokingly asked if they were having an ok time breathing in this fresh air. They both gave me the "he's so not cool" eyeroll.

Good choice on the 7.08. My daughter's guns are 7.08.
